Business To Business, Patna, 23rd May, 2026: Prashant Kishor on Saturday said the strong public response to the satirical digital platform Cockroach Janta Party reflected growing public frustration over unemployment, corruption, and rising prices.
The Jan Suraaj Party founder said the popularity of the online campaign should concern governments because it indicated increasing anxiety and declining public trust in the system.
Kishor noted that although the initiative currently remained largely a “social media campaign,” the scale of engagement showed that many people were using satire to express dissatisfaction with governance and economic conditions.
The platform emerged following controversy surrounding remarks attributed to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a court hearing related to the ‘senior’ designation of a lawyer, where references to “cockroaches” and “parasites” reportedly sparked debate online.
The episode has since evolved into a broader internet-driven political satire trend, drawing attention to public sentiment on governance, economic hardship, and institutional trust.
