Business To Business, Chandigarh, 29th May, 2026: Bhagwant Mann on Friday described the Aam Aadmi Party’s performance in the municipal elections as a “decisive endorsement” of his government’s development-oriented governance model and a rejection of what he called the opposition’s politics of “hatred, division and negativity”.
Mann said voters in Punjab had rejected the Indian National Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal and Bharatiya Janata Party, and that the results reflected public support for initiatives such as free electricity, improved education, free healthcare, employment generation and welfare measures.
Highlighting the party’s showing across the state, Mann pointed to AAP’s strong performance in Dhuri, where the party reportedly won 19 of 21 seats.
He also claimed that the BJP had been pushed to the fifth position in the elections and asserted that the results demonstrated public backing for what he termed the “politics of performance.”
