Business To Business, New Delhi, 13th May 2026: With suspense continuing over the choice of the next chief minister of Kerala even 10 days after the assembly election results were announced, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday held what is being seen as a final round of discussions with party president Mallikarjun Kharge.
The leadership of the Indian National Congress has so far been unable to arrive at a consensus on the chief ministerial face despite the United Democratic Front securing a sweeping victory with more than a two-thirds majority in the recently concluded state elections.
Gandhi visited Kharge’s residence in New Delhi for the meeting, which lasted around 40 minutes. No official statement was issued immediately after the discussions.
The prolonged deliberations have fuelled speculation over competing claims and internal consultations within the Congress-led alliance regarding the leadership of the new government in Kerala.
