Business To Business, New Delhi, 22nd July, 2026: Opposition leaders, including Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, were removed by police on Tuesday after staging a dharna outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, demanding his resignation.
The unexpected protest in the high-security zone prompted the government to send Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan to the site in an attempt to persuade the opposition leaders to end the sit-in.
Rahul Gandhi held a brief discussion with the minister, but the talks remained inconclusive, following which Singh and the home secretary left the protest site. Police later removed the opposition leaders from the area.
