Sebaashray camp a 'scam', probe on to nail perpetrators: Suvendu

Business To Business, Kolkata, 26th July, 2026:   West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday told the State Assembly that the government is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities linked to the 'Sebaashray' healthcare camps launched by TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee.
Responding to allegations raised by Falta MLA Debangsu Panda in the House, the Chief Minister said multiple agencies, including the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Special Task Force (STF), South 24 Parganas district police, and medical experts, are jointly investigating the matter.
Adhikari said the government's priority is to identify and prosecute all those responsible for any wrongdoing associated with the camps, which were organised to provide free medical treatment to the needy.
Assuring the Assembly of a thorough probe, the Chief Minister said no one found involved in the alleged scam would be spared.
"No one involved will be allowed to go scot-free. Time will speak," Adhikari said.
The investigation relates to allegations of irregularities in the conduct of the Sebaashray medical camps. There was no immediate response from Abhishek Banerjee or the Trinamool Congress to the Chief Minister's statement.
