Shiv Sena (UBT) churn: MP Nimbalkar weighs options with supporters before deciding political stand

Business To Business, Mumbai, 21^st June, 2026:  Omprakash Raje Nimbalkar, one of the six dissident MPs whose political future has become the subject of intense speculation, on Sunday began consultations with his supporters in his constituency to determine his next political course.
Nimbalkar arrived at his residence in Dharashiv from Pune in the afternoon under Y-Plus security cover.
Speaking to reporters, the MP said he was meeting supporters and local workers to gather their views before making any decision. Emphasizing his connection with constituents, he remarked that his relationship with the public had been built through direct engagement rather than social media.
"Not through social media, but people have seen how I work for them with dedication. Even a cattle grazer has my mobile phone number," Nimbalkar said, highlighting what he described as his strong grassroots connect.
The developments come amid uncertainty within the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), which is hoping that the dissident MPs, including Nimbalkar, will remain with the party.
So far, Nimbalkar has not publicly announced any decision regarding a possible defection or change in political allegiance. The consultations with supporters are expected to play a role in shaping his next move as political developments continue to unfold in Maharashtra.
