Business To Business, Chennai, 20th July, 2026: The DMK on Sunday said it had strongly urged the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) in Parliament to allocate time for a discussion on Karnataka's proposal to construct the Mekedatu dam across the Cauvery River.
The party also said it opposed the inclusion of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, in the current session of Parliament during the BAC meeting held in New Delhi.
In a post on X, DMK Rajya Sabha MP P. Wilson said that, following the instructions of party president M. K. Stalin, the DMK pressed for a debate on Karnataka's proposed Mekedatu dam project and Tamil Nadu's demand for the constitution of a tribunal to address the issue.
