State guest house in Alipore to be West Bengal CM's official residence

Business To Business, Kolkata, 10th May, 2026: Suvendu Adhikari will shift his Kolkata residence to the state-run guest house Soujanya in Alipore, a senior official said on Sunday.
The guest house, located on Judges Court Road in south Kolkata, was constructed during the regime of the All India Trinamool Congress government to host VVIPs and state guests. It was inaugurated in 2018 by former chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
Before becoming chief minister, Adhikari used to stay at an apartment in the Chinar Park area on the northern outskirts of the city during visits to Kolkata.
Following the swearing-in of the BJP-led government, preparations are underway for his move to the Alipore guest house, which is located around a kilometre from Banerjee’s residence.
