Sudip Bandyopadhyay meets Bengal CM as NCPI MPs get NDA meet invite, fueling realignment buzz

Business To Business, Kolkata, 28th July, 2026:   Lok Sabha MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay held a closed-door meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday, a day before MPs of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) were scheduled to attend an NDA meeting in New Delhi, triggering speculation about the party's political future.
Bandyopadhyay is among the 20 rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs who broke away from the Mamata Banerjee-led party and later merged with the relatively lesser-known NCPI, weeks after the West Bengal Assembly election.
The meeting, which lasted for about an hour, took place at the state secretariat, Nabanna, on Monday evening.
The development has drawn attention as BJP sources said Chief Minister Adhikari cancelled his planned visit to the national capital at the last moment.
Neither side officially disclosed the agenda of the meeting, but its timing has intensified political speculation ahead of the NCPI MPs' participation in the NDA meeting.
