Suvendu aide killing: WB Police recover second two-wheeler used in crime, SIT visits UP

Business To Business, Kolkata, 8th May, 2026: Investigators on Friday recovered a second motorcycle allegedly used in the murder of Chandranath Rath, a close aide of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suvendu Adhikari, even as the West Bengal Police intensified its search for a car suspected to have been used in the crime, a senior officer said.
A seven-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), constituted on Thursday with officers from the state Criminal Investigation Department, Intelligence Branch and the Special Task Force, has left for Uttar Pradesh to collect “technical and field-level evidence” related to the case, the officer said.
According to police, the second motorcycle allegedly linked to the murder was recovered near Rail Gate No. 11 in Barasat, around six kilometres from Madhyamgram in West Bengal, where Rath, Adhikari’s personal assistant, was shot dead on Wednesday night.
