Suvendu inaugurates cyber help desks, Durga Suraksha squad in all Bengal police stations

Business To Business, Kolkata, 02nd July, 2026:   West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday inaugurated cyber help desks in all police stations across the state as part of the government's efforts to strengthen the response to cybercrime.
Addressing the launch event, the chief minister said cybercrime had emerged as a "pandemic" and stressed the need for a robust institutional mechanism to tackle the growing threat.
To enhance public access to cybercrime-related assistance, dedicated cyber help desks have now been established in every police station across West Bengal, he said.
Adhikari also inaugurated the Durga Suraksha Squad, a specialised initiative aimed at enhancing women's safety, which will operate across all districts and police commissionerates in the state.
The twin initiatives are intended to improve cybercrime response, facilitate timely assistance to victims and strengthen measures for women's security across West Bengal.
