Three NCPI MPs skip NDA's 'Mangal Milan' amid signs of rift among TMC rebels
Business To Business, New Delhi, 05 August, 2026: Narendra Modi, Union ministers and leaders of parties in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) attended the ruling coalition's weekly meeting of parliamentarians on Tuesday, where the absence of three MPs from the Nationalist Congress Party India (NCPI) drew attention amid reports of differences within the group.
The three MPs who did not attend were:
- Khalilur Rahaman
- Abu Taher Khan
- Yusuf Pathan
The trio had also skipped the NDA parliamentary party's
"Mangal Milan" meeting held on
July 28.
Speaking to reporters on the Parliament premises, Abu Taher Khan said:
- "We are not with the NDA, and neither are we going to the BJP."
- He noted that the three MPs had again stayed away from the NDA meeting.
- He added that they would, however, attend a meeting convened by Suvendu Adhikari regarding development works in his constituency.
- Khan also said they would not support any step that is against Muslims.
The absence of the three MPs has fuelled speculation about differences within the 20-member group of TMC rebels. However, no official announcement has been made regarding any change in their political alignment or their future relationship with the NDA.
