Uma Shankar Singh, BSP's lone MLA in UP, cremated with state honours in Ballia

Business To Business Ballia, 07 August, 2026:    Uma Shankar Singh, the lone legislator of the **Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, was cremated with state honours on Friday amid a large gathering.
The last rites of the 55-year-old MLA were performed at **Shri Rampur Ghat on the banks of the Ganga River near the Ballia district headquarters.
Funeral details

  • His son, Prince Yukesh Singh, performed the last rites and lit the funeral pyre.
  • He became emotional after carrying out the final rituals.
  • Singh's body was brought to his ancestral village, Khanwar, late Thursday night.
The cremation was attended by supporters, local residents and political figures who paid their respects to the BSP leader.
