Union Minister Pralhad Joshi accuses Congress of being 'jealous' of Operation Sindoor

Business To Business, Hubballi (Karnataka), 28 August 2026:   Union Minister for Education, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi on Friday alleged that the Congress was jealous of the Narendra Modi government’s successful Operation Sindoor.
 
Pralhad Joshi also alleged that the party behaves like a “well-wisher of Pakistan” whenever India carries out military action against the neighbouring country.
 
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Joshi alleged that the Congress had remained silent over the capabilities and valour of the Indian armed forces and the political direction provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi until Operation Sindoor was successfully carried out.
 
“Till Operation Sindoor was successfully conducted, the Congress had nothing to say about the capabilities and valour of the Indian Army or the political direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When Condoleezza Rice came here and asked the Congress government not to attack Pakistan, they shut their shops and remained quiet,” Joshi claimed.
 
He alleged that the Congress became critical only after the Narendra Modi-led government successfully conducted Operation Sindoor.
 
“From the day Operation Sindoor was successfully conducted, they have become jealous. They are well-wishers of Pakistan,” Joshi alleged.
 
Joshi also criticised the Karnataka government over the suspension of two government schoolteachers for allegedly participating in an RSS route march.
 
Calling the action politically motivated, Joshi alleged that the suspension was a result of “hatred” and political vendetta.
 
“The state government is acting out of hatred. Since the 1970s, courts have dismissed such cases against people who participated in RSS activities. The case will not stand in court and the government will lose its reputation,” he said.
 
Joshi said the RSS is an independent organisation and claimed that courts had previously quashed similar disciplinary action taken against government employees for participating in RSS activities.
 
“This is a vindictive and cowardly action by the government,” he said, demanding that the suspension orders against the two teachers be withdrawn immediately.
 
The Education Department in Yadgir had suspended two government school teachers for allegedly participating in an RSS route march held in October 2025. The action followed a complaint alleging that the teachers had participated in the programme while serving as government employees.
 
The issue has triggered a political debate in Karnataka, with the BJP accusing the Congress government of targeting RSS sympathisers, while the state government has defended the Education Department’s decision to initiate disciplinary action based on applicable service rules.
