West Bengal Cabinet: Portfolios allocated in major expansion, CM Suvendu Adhikari keeps Home, Hill Affairs

Business To Business, Kolkata, 10th June, 2026:   The West Bengal government on Wednesday allocated portfolios to the ministers inducted during the recent cabinet expansion led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
A total of 13 Cabinet ministers and 22 Ministers of State, including three Ministers of State with independent charge, were assigned responsibilities.

  • Sharadwat Mukherjee — Health
  • Dudh Kumar Mondal — Agriculture

Cabinet Expansion
The portfolio allocation follows the swearing-in of 35 MLAs as ministers on June 1, when Adhikari expanded his ministry, increasing the strength of the Council of Ministers to 41 members.
The Chief Minister has retained important portfolios, including:

  • Hill Affairs
  • Personnel and Administrative Reforms
  • Other departments not specifically allocated
Political Significance
The composition of the expanded ministry has been described as an attempt to balance:
