Business To Business, Kolkata, 8th May, 2026: Declaring that an “era of fear” in West Bengal had ended, chief minister-designate Suvendu Adhikari on Friday said the first Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state would function on the principle of collective leadership, implement every promise made in the party’s election manifesto and work closely with the Centre to fulfil the aspirations of the people.
Addressing BJP legislators and senior leaders shortly after being unanimously elected leader of the BJP legislature party in the presence of Amit Shah, Adhikari adopted a conciliatory yet assertive tone while outlining the priorities of the incoming government.
“Bhoi is out and, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has said, bharosa is in,” Adhikari said amid loud cheers from party MLAs and supporters.
