Business To Business, Karachi, 02 January, 2026: The dismissal of Tim Nielsen from his position as the high performance red-ball coach was one of several issues with the PCB that left him feeling "completely humiliated," according to former Australian cricket legend Jason Gillespie, reflecting on his brief nine-month tenure as head coach of Pakistan.
In April 2024, the Pakistan Cricket Board appointed Gillespie as the head coach for red-ball cricket, while former South African batsman Gary Kirsten was brought in for a similar position in white-ball formats.
However, Kirsten resigned in October of that year, followed by Gillespie's resignation in December, at which point Nielsen was informed by the PCB that his services would no longer be required prior to the South Africa tour in 2024-25.
