Spain reign supreme in FIFA World Cup 2026 with extra-time goal

Business To Business, New York, 20th July, 2026:    Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with substitute Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal in the 106th minute. Despite Argentina's resilient defending and goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez's string of saves, Spain finally broke through to claim their second World Cup title, having previously won the tournament in 2010. Argentina finished the match with 10 men after Enzo Fernández was sent off for a second yellow card late in regulation time.
Spain dominated possession and created the better chances throughout the match, while Argentina held firm until Torres' extra-time strike settled the contest. Spain's triumph capped an impressive tournament under coach Luis de la Fuente and ended Argentina's reign as defending world champions.
